Carriere Motion Appliance

Yardley Orthodontics is proud to announce the integration of the Carriere Motion Appliance for Class II and III Correction. The intent Carriere devices are to provide an orthodontic jumpstart—without incorporation of invasive measures. Rather than having to extract a tooth or perform a similar oral surgery procedure, the Carriere Motion 3D Correction Appliances allows orthodontists, like our own Dr. James Riesenberger, to help make posterior and anterior corrections—rapidly, safely, and effectively. As a result, patients often enjoy a quicker orthodontic treatment experience, in addition to other benefits.

A Deeper Look into the Carriere Motion Appliance

In the medical world, doctors grade certain injuries based on specific criteria such as levels of severity. For example, individuals can be diagnosed with grade one, two, or three sprains. In orthodontics, determining the level of misalignment and placement of teeth position works similarly. Dr. James Riesenberger evaluates the teeth, jaw, and mouth to assess what degree of malocclusion a patient exhibits.

Malocclusion essentially refers to the teeth not being aligned as they should. Orthodontists classify malocclusion into three categories:

  1. Class One Malocclusion
This is the most common type of teeth misalignment in which the bite appears normal, but the upper teeth slightly overlap the lower teeth.
  2. Class Two Malocclusion
This classification refers to an overbite that causes the upper jaw and teeth to severely overlap the bottom jaw and teeth.
  3. Class Three Malocclusion
This classification refers to patients exhibiting an underbite, occurs when the lower jaw protrudes or juts forward, causing the lower jaw and teeth to overlap the upper jaw and teeth.

As previously mentioned, Carriere Motion 3D Class Correction Appliances are designed to help prime the teeth for movement, without having to apply invasive techniques.

To better illustrate how Carriere Motion 3D Class II and III Correction Appliances work, take a look below:

  • Carriere Motion 3D Class II Correction Appliance
This version of the Carriere Motion 3D Corrective Appliance works to address the posterior (back) position of the teeth needed to achieve a Class I correction. In doing so, the process of orthodontic treatments for braces and Invisalign is simplified. Dr. Riesenberger applies the contoured stainless steel base to fit the patient’s tooth, comfortably and safely. The device shifts the posterior region forward, eventually reaching a Class I malocclusion. In a short time (three to five months) the small apparatus is removed and full-orthodontic treatment can begin.
  • Carriere Motion 3D Class III Correction Appliance
Similar to its sister product, the Carriere Motion 3D Class III Correction Appliance is affixed to the patient’s tooth. The device shifts posterior teeth backward, eventually reaching a Class I malocclusion. In a short time (three to five months) the small apparatus is removed and full-orthodontic treatment can begin.
